ABOUT

Children often endure silently the effects of decisions made by adults, at times when change and uncertainty have become the new normal, and we get lost in the urgency of daily routines. Feelings are generally downplayed and not processed.

This is the story of Gaia, a little girl that moves away from the only home she ever knew. She feels disoriented in her new place. She shares her longings with her plushie confidant, Mr. Raccoon. Through their dialogue and his wisdom, he teaches her to dance her sorrows away, she opens to the adventures and embraces the possibilities ahead.

She realizes those who we love are always close to us while learning to accept life events and changes and the wonderful world awaiting outside her window.

CECILIA BRAVO MITTMANN

grew up in the shadows of the Andes Mountains where clouds nap at the top of volcanoes; and the jungle explodes in a rainbow of birds, butterflies, and orchids.

While her mother read her European folk tales, her paternal grandmother told her legends of mythical beings and hidden treasures. Behind thick glasses, she hid from the world.
She was busy when her children came and life goes very fast. Now, while trying to hold on to the precious years of her grandchildren she writes for them the stories she wishes she had the time to tell her children.

LADY BRUNIERE

was born near the Amazon rainforest. At seven, she illustrated her first book. Her two great passions were running barefoot in the forest and drawing.
In her teens, her family moved to a larger city, leaving behind her first love (the forest). She pursued a degree in Pedagogy, then a Master’s in Business Management. But something was missing. She decided to return to her old dream and moved to Ireland to write.
She also became Lady Bruniere, tired of being called Alien instead of Aline, her real name. Now, she works as an illustrator of children’s literature and has illustrated more than 40 books. When she is not in her studio, she can be found strolling through Ireland’s cold forests or enjoying the summer in Brazil.
